Terms of Service — Courrt
Last updated: 9 June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Courrt website (https://courrt.com) and the Courrt remote MCP server (https://mcp.courrt.com/mcp) (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Superlinear Technologies Pvt Ltd ("Courrt", "we", "us"). By using the Service — including by connecting the MCP server from an AI client such as ChatGPT or Claude — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Courrt is
Courrt is a read-only research tool that helps you find and read Indian Supreme Court and High Court judgments and Indian statutory documents (Acts, Rules, Notifications, etc.). The judgments and documents Courrt returns are public records, reproduced verbatim from official court PDFs and public open-data sources. Courrt surfaces a source URL and citation so you can verify every result against the official source.
The MCP server exposes only read-only tools. It has no write, edit, or delete capability and takes no action in any external system on your behalf.
2. Not legal advice — important disclaimer
Courrt is an information-retrieval and research tool, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice. Nothing returned by the Service constitutes legal advice, creates an attorney–client (or advocate–client) relationship, or substitutes for the judgment of a qualified, licensed legal professional. Court records, citations, and case status can change, be amended, be stayed, be overruled, or be subject to appeal. You must independently verify any result against the official court record and consult a qualified lawyer before relying on it for any legal, financial, or other decision.
AI clients (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) may summarise or interpret Courrt's output. Such summaries are generated by the AI client, not by Courrt, and may contain errors or omissions. Always check the verbatim text and the source URL.
3. Public records and intellectual property
Indian court judgments and statutes are public records. Source data is attributed to the respective courts (CC-BY-4.0 via the eCourts/Open Data pipeline and the AWS Open Data Registry). Courrt does not claim ownership of the underlying judgments or statutes. The Courrt name, website design, software, and search system are owned by Superlinear Technologies Pvt Ltd.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Indian or other applicable law;
- attempt to overload, disrupt, or circumvent rate limits, security, or access controls of the Service (including scraping designed to degrade availability for others);
- misrepresent Courrt output as official, certified, or as legal advice;
- remove or falsify source attributions, citations, or source URLs when redistributing results;
- use the Service to harass, defame, or violate the privacy or rights of any person, including the individuals named in judgments.
We may rate-limit, suspend, or block access that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or threatens the Service.
5. Availability and changes
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, the corpus, or the available tools at any time. The corpus is added to and corrected over time; coverage and text extraction quality may vary (see the support documentation).
6. No warranty
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING (WITHOUT LIMITATION) WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, CURRENCY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any judgment or document is complete, current, or accurate, or that text extracted from a PDF is free of extraction artefacts. While Courrt is designed for fidelity (verbatim text, no fabrication), you remain responsible for verifying results against the official source.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COURRT AND SUPERLINEAR TECHNOLOGIES PVT LTD WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON ANY RESULT, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. The Service is provided free of charge for research; to the extent any liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Courrt and Superlinear Technologies Pvt Ltd from any claim arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.
9. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India for any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, without prejudice to mandatory local rights you may have.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
